Non-Destructive Testing Personnel Certification Services:

In order for personnel conducting non-destructive testing applications to have international validity for the tests they perform, they are certified in three different levels of expertise: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.

To be able to apply non-destructive testing methods, personnel undergo a separate training and certification process for each method.

*Non-destructive testing in accordance with the ASNT SNT TC 1A Standard, Levels 1 and 2,

*Theoretical and Practical Source Training and Certification

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING TRAINING AND PERSONNEL QUALIFICATION

Non-destructive testing is the practice of detecting defects on the surfaces and/or internal parts of materials without causing damage. The applications of the methods used to make these detections are carried out by individuals with different levels of training who have proven their qualifications.

Level 1:

An individual certified as Level 1 has demonstrated competence to perform non-destructive testing under the supervision of personnel certified at Level 2 or Level 3 and in accordance with written instructions.

Within the scope of the competence defined in the certificate, Level 1 personnel may be authorized by the employer to:

a) Set up non-destructive testing equipment,

b) Perform tests,

c) Record and classify results according to written criteria,

d) Report results.

Level 1 certified personnel are not responsible for the selection of the non-destructive testing method and technique, and the interpretation and evaluation of test results.

Level 2:

An individual certified as Level 2 has proven expertise to perform non-destructive testing according to NDT procedures or NDT instructions.

In the scope of this expertise specified in the certificate, personnel with Level 2 certification can perform the following tasks:

a) Select the non-destructive testing technique for the method to be used,

b) Define the limitations of applying the testing method,

c) Adapt non-destructive testing rules, standards, specifications, and procedures to perform non-destructive testing to real working conditions,

d) Install and verify equipment,

e) Conduct and supervise the test,

f) Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, rules, or specifications,

g) Perform and supervise all tasks at Level 2 or below,

h) Guide personnel at Level 2 or below,

i) Report non-destructive testing results.

Level 3:

An individual certified as Level 3 has proven expertise to perform and manage non-destructive testing processes. Level 3 personnel:

a) Interpret and evaluate results according to existing standards, rules, and specifications;

b) Have sufficient experience in materials, manufacturing, and product technology to assist in the creation of non-destructive testing methods, the development of non-destructive testing techniques, and, in the absence of other criteria, the establishment of acceptance criteria;

c) Have a general knowledge of other non-destructive testing methods.

d) Within the scope of the qualifications defined in the certificate, Level 3 personnel may be authorized to:

e) Create and review non-destructive testing instructions and procedures for editorial and technical accuracy and validity;

f) Review standards, rules, specifications, and procedures;

g) Determine the specific testing method, procedure, and non-destructive testing instructions to be used;

h) Perform and supervise all tasks at all levels;

i) Guide all non-destructive testing personnel at all levels.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING EXPERTISE REQUIREMENTS:

To become a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Expert, certain standards require the documentation of visual acuity, completion of training and experience periods. There is no prerequisite regarding the participant's educational background, but for participants with associate's or bachelor's degrees, the durations can be shortened.

Reductions can be made in all levels of training:

- For candidates working in or already certified in multiple methods (e.g., MT, PT) or seeking certification from another method, when the relevant training curriculum is repeated in certain aspects (e.g., product technology), the total training days for these methods (e.g., PT, MT, VT) can be reduced in accordance with the training curriculum.

- For individuals who are graduates of a Vocational School (Technical College) or university in a relevant field or have completed vocational training or engineering or science education at a Vocational School or university for at least two years, the total required training duration can be reduced by up to 50%.

- For Levels 1 and 2, if the scope of activity is limited in terms of application and/or technical aspects, the training scope and duration can be reduced by up to 50%.

Training Durations:

Surface Methods:

Visual Testing (VT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Testing (MT)

Level 1 Expertise: 3 days

Level 2 Expertise: 2 days

Direct Level 2 Expert Certification: Total training duration for Level 1 and Level 2 (5 days) must be completed. In this case, Level 2 examination can be taken without entering the Level 1 examination.
